Species Name: Mustelus antarcticus

Description
The Gummy Shark is also known as Flake, Sweet William, Gummy, Australian Smooth Hound Shark and Smooth Dog Shark. The overall colour of the Gummy Shark is Greyish along the upper body with a scattering of small white spots, progressing down the flanks to a white belly area. The Gummy shark is a long slender fish with a large snout; also the dorsal fins are similar in size to each other with a distinct notch. Gummy Sharks can grow up to approximately 175cm in length.

Distribution
Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.

Baits
Pilchards, Garfish, Herring, Squid, Octopus, Crab, Prawns and Worm
