Common Name: King Salmon
Species Name: Polydactylus sheridani
The King Salmon is also known as Threadfin, Burnett Salmon, King Salmon, Gold Threadfin and Sheridan’s Threadfin. The King Salmon’s body colour greyish blue along the upper flanks and back becoming a lighter silvery colour down the flanks to the belly area. The pectoral fins are orange to yellow in colour with five long filaments. King Salmon can grow up to 170cm and 30kg most commonly taken at around 5kg mark.
