Description
The Murray Cod is also known as Cod and Goodoo. The Murray Cods body varies with the age and location of the fish, generally it is a camouflage pattern of olive green to dark green on the back and upper flanks the progressing down to a yellowish or creamy white belly area. Exceptionally large fish often take on a greyish appearance. The fins of the Murray Cod are dark grey in appearance with lower or soft dorsal, caudal and anal fin having a distinctive white margin. The Murray is Australia’s largest freshwater fish and has been recorded up to 113kg and 1.8mtr in length however catches up to 10kg are more common.
